We love children and have a variety of ways they can participate in the church. We strive to have a healthy, safe, and fun learning environment for our children to grow in knowledge and faith.
NEUMC offers year-round activities such as Sunday School and Lamb’s Corner for children. We also offer annual events such as Trick or Treat in the Patch and Vacation Bible School.
Sunday School
Sunday School is offered each Sunday morning at 9:00AM, in the Education Building.
Children’s classes are offered beginning at age 2 through 5th grade. Class levels are based on a child’s grade as of the current school year.
We provide a loving, safe environment and age-appropriate lessons on faith.
Lamb's Corner
During each Sunday morning service, Lamb’s Corner is offered as a short, engaging lesson for our children.
During the service, a church leader will invite children down to the front of the sanctuary to learn about faith.
Vacation Bible School
NEUMC offers an exciting Vacation Bible School every summer. Curriculums vary year to year and volunteers are always welcome to the church to assist with setup, each night of VBS, and other VBS related activities as needed.
VBS takes place over a few nights and ends with a church-wide party. VBS students are also encouraged to share what they’ve learned in the Sunday worship service following the week of VBS.
2024’s VBS, Breaker Rock Beach, has already completed. Please stay tuned for information on VBS 2025!
Nursery
Our nursery is available during worship and during Sunday School.
There is a story time and a snack time (for children ages 2 and up) which consists of animal crackers, Goldfish crackers or Cheerios. Sippy cups are provided if one is not brought with the child.
The infant nursery is for ages 6 weeks to 23 months and the toddler nursery is for ages 2 to 4 years. It is staffed with paid child care workers and assisted by parents of nursery age children.
Safe Sanctuary Policy
Each United Methodist Church in South Carolina is required to have a Safe Sanctuaries Policy which is reviewed annually by the Church Council. The purpose of the policy is to ensure congregations are safe places where children, youth, and vulnerable adults may experience the abiding love of God and fellowship within the community of faith.
Our Safe Sanctuary Policy can be viewed here.
